I have just rounded up some information on the services I can offer. This is to be used as a rough guide as some services have been missed off.

Hosting Plan

Choice Of Domain (Fee Not Included)

1500 MB Data Transfer

Unlimited FTP Access

300MB Webspace

CGI, Perl and PHP4 Enabled

FrontPage 2002 Extensions

1 MySQL Database

Online Web Log

Passoword Protected Dirctories

Firewall Protection

Hosted In Secure DataCentre

Unlimited POP Email Accounts

Unlimited Auto Responders

Unlimited Email Forwarding

The above will be around £35 Per Year (excluding domain registration (around £2-£10)).

Online Storage

100 MB Data Transfter

Unlimited FTP Access

250 MB Webspace

Online Web Log

Passoword Protected Dirctories

Firewall Protection

Hosted In Secure DataCentre

The above will be around £15 Per Year (extra services may be offered at an extra cost, .e.g. email accounts).

The more people that are interested, the more probable it will be it will happen.

Please vote in the poll,

Craig.

As it stands i will need around 20 people to take up the offer for the hosting plan to make it work, or a bit of the hosting plan and some on the storage one.

I think its a great idea, I know someone who wants space at the moment and am sure that I can point lots of people your way in the future.

However, if you feel your going to lose money through it, then I wouldnt go ahead until enough interest can be gained.

I'm contemplating taking the plunge and setting everything up at http://www.windowsforum.org.uk even though i havent got enough people to break even at the moment.  Hopefully the site will draw more people in.

What you guys think?

seems a bit risky... if you don't have inough people interested :(

Craig, I have to agree with Damo's comment. I would hate to see this forum suffer, if your venture fails to take off properly.

For what it's worth, I will guarantee taking a hosting plan place, even if I don't use it immediately.

Mr. M.

PS I should say subjest to seeing full terms and conditions!!!

I may be interested in the hosting thing in the future, but at the moment I haven't even got 1mb worth of stuff to put up. :(

What is the difference between windowsforum.org and windowsforum.org.uk?

Sorry if it is a really stoopid question but I really don't know

how about a thread or a site maybe where people can register their interest and if enough people register you can launch your website (.uk) with the hosting services..?

That sounds like a fantastic idea Prince!

Hey how about on the PCA forum. You could have some really annoying popups and attract thousands of takers (according to their advertising junk) :D :P
