Outlook Express & Zone Alarm

Recommended Posts

Having removed Norton and am now running ZA on chums computer I find that there is a problem with Outlook Express in sending and receiving e-mails. Suggestions as to what to do please.

doug, to change the permissions in ZA, open ZA, click on "Program Control" on the left of the screen and click on the "Programs" tab. As you look down the list there should be an entry for Outlook Express. It should have 2 ticks in the "Access" column.

HTH, dagwoood.

Edit: Or, make sure Generic Host Process has access to the net :)

doug, sorry for the delay in getting back to you

I have Zone Alarm on my system configured to not allow Outlook Express to act as a server, i.e.accept inbound connections from the internet. I haven't had any problems with OE by having ZA configured this way.
