chowchow Posted April 13, 2005 Report Share Posted April 13, 2005 Hi,I am having a problem with some file permission issue.Recently, i copied a folder from my company PC to my home PC. Previously, I had set permission on this particluar folder whereby only my company domain account can access.I never remove the permission when I copied over to my home PC. So now when I tried to open any files under this folder, always prompt me that access is denied.I tried to remove the permission, but not able to.Don't tell me to copy back to the company PC cos I already left the place.So wonder is there any work around to open myfile again?Thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
scuzzman Posted April 13, 2005 Report Share Posted April 13, 2005 Have you tried booting into Safe mode and logging into the Administrator account and removing the permissions? If that doesn't work, you might try a Linux Live CD, as this will grant you read access to the file at which time you can open/resave/copy it to a floppy or Jumpdrive without permission problems. (can't copy and open). I had confirmed that the appropriate permission had been changed, no more parameter to play with.What is a Linux Live CD? How do i use it ? scuzzman Posted April 13, 2005 Report Share Posted April 13, 2005 I hope someone else can come up with an easier solution, but the only way I'd know to do it is with a Linux Live CD. Basically, a Live CD is a Linux Distrobution (yes, the entire OS) that fits on one CD and run on your comuter without modifying anything.
