MrCommunistGen
I've been working on a rather important multi gigabyte video presentation and I have been saving the files to a folder on the desktop as that makes them easily accessable. Sadly, about half way through... windows decides it doesnt like to boot, and after some major troubleshooting (including a processor swap) I concluded windows was corrupted. No biggie I thought. I booted off of another hard drive running 98SE ( I only have one XP license) to retrieve my video files. I can access and copy over any of the data from the drive i want EXCEPT for things in "Documents and Settings" which includes the desktop folder. These files seem to be encrypted. The only files i really want are IN THE DESKTOP FOLDER  Is there a way for me to retrieve my files? If I run the XP installer and tell it to repair will it erase my files?Thanks!-mcg
