Intranet Setup For Windows Update

hi out there, i need to set up a server inside the intranet to store windows update files (patchs, SPs...),

now i know how to setup the workstations with the local computer policy settings or in the active directory policies for a domain or a OU, adding wuau.adm and all that stuff....

i set this path in my intranet and set it in the policy administrative template

http://tool/updates/ to store the files

i just only copy the update files in the folder and web shared it, is that enough or the files should be stored in some other way so the workstations could access them properly according its needs for update?

... sorry for my english if i'm ambiguous, 'cause i'm cuban!!!
