SpiritualGorila
It is a Dell flat panel LCD monitor, and it worked fine up until yesterday. The screen just went, and then just blinked on and off quickly from then on. The power light will flicker on and off, and the screen will slightly light up a for split second then go out; over and over again. I unplugged it from my computer, tried it on a different plug and it still does it. Dell doesnt help that much with support. I believe i have a warranty on it, but does anyone have a quick fix, or has this happened to anyone else out there?I appreciate the help.Matt
Scarecrow Man
If it's under warrenty, take it in. LCD screens are made of 9 very thin layers, so taking them apart and fixing them is not an easy task.
djohn
Scarecrow Man is correct in saying not to try and take it apart. Have you contacted Dell? They are usually quite good at responding to request for help with their systems.Couple of things that you can try is to make sure the lead is pushed fully home on the monitor and in the graphics card as well, check the small thumbnail screws at both ends to make sure they are tight. Also check the power lead at the monitor and wherever you have it plugged in to.How old is the monitor, they usually but not always come with a three year swap out warranty. If its less than three years old give Dell a phone call and explain what is happening, they most likely will tell you to contact the monitor service agents direct, don't worry this is normal. Get the phone number from Dell and give them a call, most probably they will have a replacement monitor out to you the following day and take yours away at the same time. :)

Scarecrow Man
I've also seen the pins inside the end of the monitor cable bent in and causing strange display problems. Incidentally, I've had this with IDE devices as well! :P
