Futuremark strongly recommends you to download the updated 3DMark03 version! 3DMark03 Patch (build 320) Improvements Key technical points: Now supports Microsoft DirectX 9.0a. Professional version includes customization tools for different skins. Anti-Aliasing (FSAA) and full frame pixel shader post-processing can now be used simultaneously. (NOTE: DirectX 9.0a runtime must be installed for this functionality). New Features: Added appropriate tools for creating custom skins for the 3DMark03 user interface. Added a new benchmarking option which forces PixelShader 1.1 code path in game tests 2 and 3. "Submit Saved Result" feature enabled in 3DMark03 Free Version. 2 new command lines added: "fixedfps" and "disableopt". Fixes & Updates: CPU & VPU/GPU MHz detection functionality updated. Installation issue solved. Fixed all reported issues with results in Excel. Fixed ImageQuality Test issues. Updated System Info. Improved driver detection. XML issues solved. All other reported & identified problems and bugs in 3DMark03 have been solved. Important Notes: Benchmark results from the original release of 3DMark03 (build 313) and the updated version 3DMark03 (build 320) are fully comparable.3DMark03 (build 320) is available as a full version and a patch version. The registration codes for 3DMark03 (build 313) also work for 3DMark03 (build 320). ;)
Scarthy © ® ™
New Patch available today for 3DMark2003....Build 3303DMark03 (build 330) Info Futuremark is pleased to announce the release of a new version of 3DMark®03 - Patch (330)! 3DMark03 v3.3.0 is an updated version of 3DMark03. Hardware review sites discovered deliberate cheats in some drivers. These drivers identify 3DMark03 build 3.2.0, and render the tests differently than 3DMark03 instructs, in order to gain additional performance. Build 3.3.0 has been changed so that the test results remain the same, but the questionable drivers do not identify 3DMark03 anymore. The drivers now think 3DMark is a 3D application among others, and render the tests like 3DMark instructs. This produces a result that is genuinely comparable to other hardware. Futuremark encourages everyone to download the latest patch (330) to ensure comparable results. Please read the Audit Report (pdf) for more information. NOTE: 3DMark03 results from the original version (313) are identical with the results of this new build (330), and those of the first patch (320), except when using certain drivers with built in cheats. 3DMark03 Patch (build 330) Improvements Fixes & Updates: Graphics card core and memory speed detection corrected under Win98/SE/ME. Updated graphics card core and memory speed detection Important Notes: Benchmark results from the original release of 3DMark03 (build 313), 3DMark03 (build 320) and 3DMark03 (build 330) are fully comparable. 3DMark03 (build 330) is currently only available as a patch version. The registration codes for 3DMark03 (build 313 and build 320) also work for 3DMark03 (build 330).Go ahead and download the Patch.4.91MB Download...nVidia cheating with new drivers??? This is why the new patch has been released...3DMark®03 incorporates many ground breaking new features and technologies and sets the standard for easily and objectively measuring and comparing modern PCs’ 3D graphics performance. Recently, there have been questions and some confusion regarding 3DMark®03 results obtained with certain NVIDIA drivers. We have now established that NVIDIA’s Detonator FX drivers contain certain detection mechanisms that cause an artificially high score when using 3DMark®03. We have just published a patch 330 for 3DMark03 that defeats the detection mechanisms in the drivers and provides correct results. As with all Futuremark’s benchmarks, 3DMark®03 has been created in cooperation with the major PC industry players to provide users with the best possible and most reliable set of diagnostic tools. Futuremark is regarded as the driving force that pushes the industry to raise the bar with respect to graphics performance and features. We are committed to deliver performance analysis in an accurate, fair and consistent manner. 3DMark®03 continues in that tradition. ;)
Scarthy © ® ™
nVidia Hit Back...Following yesterday’s exposure of NVIDIA and ATI cheating in Futuremark’s 3DMark03, News.com quoted an unnamed NVIDIA official who claims that Futuremark intentionally developed a benchmark that presented certain products of the Santa Clara California-based GPU and logic design firm in a bad light.According to the representative, since NVIDIA was not part of the Futuremark Beta Program (a program which costs of hundreds of thousands of dollars to participate in), NVIDIA did not get a chance to work with Futuremark on writing the shaders like they would with a real applications developer. NVIDIA did not know what Futuremark had done, but they think the benchmark developer had intentionally tried to create a scenario that makes NVIDIA’s products look bad. The incognito official from NVIDIA did not say anything on NVIDIA’s cheats in Detonator FX drivers in order to achieve higher results in the benchmark. I also have not found anything from ATI Technologies about their cheats in CATALYST drivers that influenced 3DMark03 scores. Now NVIDIA has to bring proofs of its allegations and if they do, Futuremark will have to explain the reasons of implementing such scenario.Source. ;)
