Depending on your browser, if you have a new PM it will pop up, my browser supresses pop ups so I keep an eye on the 'new messages' link just below the windows forum logo. You are sent an email when you have a new PM.the easiest way to send on for the first time is to find a post by the person you want to send the message to and below their post are various options, email, pm etc. Click on PM and it will take you to your messaging centre! I think you should be able to work the rest out but let me know if you have problems. Very handy if you want to chat to someone away from the boards.
