nothinghere Posted July 12, 2005 Report Share Posted July 12, 2005 On Internet Explorer 6, it seems that sites which have been visited frequently will remain in the address bar regardless of how many times the history is deleted (not to mention the cookies and temporary files--though I'm sure that has nothing to do with it). For example, if I begin to type a web address starting with "m", my old college's website will pop up under auto complete--I haven't visited that site in nearly two years! And yes, my laptop came with Windows XP when I bought it a little more than two years ago (and actually, it's been more like a year and a half since I visited that website I was mentioning) so I don't see any reason why I should have reinstalled Windows since then.
