Disable browsing local drives from IE

This is a good idea for public computers, where you want to give internet access, but disallow them browsing your local drive and causing errors.

Open a new text document and paste the following into it.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoDriveTypeAutoRun"=dword:00000091
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoRun"=dword:1

save it as "disable local drives.reg" or whatever you wish to call it, just remember to save it as .reg not .txt

To re-enable them, do the same as above with the following

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoDriveTypeAutoRun"=dword:00000091
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoRun"=dword:0
