goSTE Posted August 30, 2005 Report Share Posted August 30, 2005 Sometimes when I boot up world of warcraft or other 3D games the graphics will freeze for a couple of seconds, i can still move the mouse around. then after about 8 seconds my graphics "break"http://www.mediabeatstudio.com/roo/WoW1.jpghttp://www.mediabeatstudio.com/roo/Wow2.jpgI get this graphical problem. My graphics are then also broken in other games... e.g.http://www.mediabeatstudio.com/roo/ut1.JPGand for a comparison of where the pixelation takes place...http://www.mediabeatstudio.com/roo/ut3.JPGhttp://www.mediabeatstudio.com/roo/ut4.JPGIf i reset the problem is fixed until next time.(CPU) 2-Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.80GHz, 2806MHz, 512KB (50% Load) .:.(RAM) usage: 462/1536MB (30.08%) .:.(GFX) NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600, (Display) 1024x768/32bit/85Hz(OS) Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 1 (5.1 - 2600), (installed for) 85w 6d 14h 2m, (uptime) 42m .:. (HDDs) 4.05GB/224GB(1.8%) freeI have the latest graphics drivers (v77.77) from nvidia.have you any idea how to fix this or what the problem may be? You may try to reinstall Directx, and maybe the last version of it...And if you can check if the cooler on the video card is still working then do that also ... And cancel any overclock you have done... :)And you may try Everest to see if it can give you a hint on your video card temperatures...another option is to try an older version of the drivers... the last one is not the best one in many cases...
