madboy33
Hi guysI now have 2 computers, but 1 monitor. Is it possible to run both of them from 1 keyboard/mouse and 1 monitor?I really want my old computer to do the menial tasks, such as archiving and .raring files whilst my new computer does all the gaming and surfing the net.Don't really know where to start. Many thanks for all your help
Gagaman
I think you need a KVM switch to do that: http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/20040406/
Alan2273
Yes you do need a KVM switch, the one I use was £15.00 of e-bay and it allows me to use one keyboard, mouse and monitor with two computers. This is the one I use, cheap and cheerful but it does the job and I have used it for 2 months now with no problems.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Jaht-2-Port-KVM-Supe...1QQcmdZViewItem

pwiecek
Be careful with the equipment. Read and follow the directions.Another solution is to try the VNC program that will let you remote control the workhorse computer from the better one. I agree that the KVM is the best choice, but this is another option.
