Yes, that's fine Nellie, no problem with networking either.

Using OEM XP here with 2 machines networked, the install picked up my network connections and configured itself :)

You have to do a clean install with OEM I believe, don't think you can upgrade, but I'll stand corrected if wrong.

You have all your partitions with your important stuff anyway so you won't lose anything so a clean install will be fine for you.

Good luck :)

I thought you could only use OEM with new hardware,as powerless says upgrade disc is a full xp disc you just need a previous os installed or disc.

Well in the price comparison site I checked out the OEM version of XP was cheaper than the upgrade version. If I reformat my hard drive Ellas then I can pretend it is a new one!!! :P

I planned to reformat anyway.....I want to change my partitions about a bit.

So just to clarify.........XP Home is ok for a home network??? If anyone has any other sites I can check out I would be more than grateful.......it is all down to price now.

Still window shopping...... I have found Home Edition upgrade for £73.76 and Pro upgrade for £115.93 so far from CCL computers..........trying various price compare sites at the moment.

'Course all this is dependent on my car sailing through it's MOT next week..........if it doesn't then I shall have to put XP on the back burner for a bit longer.........sigh!
