I have noticed that when ever a user besides me (im admin) logs onto an account with mine running, and then doesnt log off (and leaves it idle), when a screen saver then powersave for my monitor kicks in, it only displays the background like its going to log off, but then hangs and freezes. I end up having to restart-- losing all unsaved work.Is there any idea what is going on, and how to fix it? I have looked into lots of things, updates, processes, etc-- but im all updated and non of the programs are at fault.thanks. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
-pops- Posted October 16, 2005 Report Share Posted October 16, 2005 I had a somewhat similar problem which was only rectified by disabling screensavers on the subsidiary account and powersaving on both accounts i.e. both users settings were "always on". It seemed to work but, the person I did it for decided that it would be better to have another machine for the second user (his wife) so I built him one. -pops- Posted October 16, 2005 Report Share Posted October 16, 2005 I only experienced this the one time and there were only two accounts on the machine. I did the alteration from the subsidiary account.As to what I did being the only way of prevention, I don't know. I did a lot of adjustments and alterations (I don't remember the detail) but nothing seemed to set the machine the way it was wanted.Keep checking back as there may be other contributions from people with more experience of this than me.
