noname17
Hello, I tryed to delete MSN Gaming Zone from my Program Files directory (don't ask me why). Everytime i've got the message that the files are used by a program and that they cannot be deleted. But everytime i tryed again, 30 mb from my hdd dissappeared (i tryed a few times). I want to free that space and don't know how to. I used Disk CleanUp, Easy Cleaner, but with no result.I know it's a silly question, but please help me if you know the answer, because i lost about 200mb already.Thank you. Click on the link below and have a look at Microsoft's site for removal instructions and use safe mode to remove, if the above does not work, or you need a little more help, please post back on this topic. :)http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q186161/
Scarecrow Man
You should never remove a program by deleting the program folder. Use Add/Remove programs in control panel, and if that does not work, as DJohn says, there are removal tools.Chances are, there are some residual files. Most programs will install files into other directories than the actual program directory. Especially Microsoft programs, which also tend to install a lot in System and System32, as well as user folders.
