m2001smith Posted November 9, 2005 Report Share Posted November 9, 2005 Have a need to use windows media player 6.x as my default player, both as a stand alone program and as an "external" player when launching videos from my IE browser. Among other things, I like the fact that with 6.x I can launch many players at the same time .....Have not been able to make this work from my browser. Either media player 9 is launched as an external player or video plays within browser or I get an unrecognized file type error.Any ideas?Any other "free" player I can use to do this? It also includes a free player "Media Player Classic" which is very small and non-intrusive. It also includes alternates for QuickTime and RealVideo/Audio.
