Pouria
Hi,There is a HDD with multi OS :MS-DOS 6.22 & WIN 98This HDD had a virus and could not be started.I used WIN98 bootable CD to install a fresh copy of Win98 &when that was started Windows SCANDISK was loaded and started to checkfiles...Scandisk found problems & asked me to fix them but I chose Don't Fix It& type this:SETUP /is to skip scanning during setup.but when setup shows "Scanning System Registry" it hangs. My problem is not thatMy problem is this:all of directories in drive C: changed to files without extention.and there is a hidden folder named FOUND0001 and I know all of you guess that what is it's content.thousands of .CHK files.I don't have any Undo floppies. So is there any way that get my files back frank?I test it "SCANDISK /UNDO" , but it needs a Undo floppy!I guess those directories|files have been lost.THANKS. Scarecrow Man
If you run scandisk on your drive, and errors are found, it will give you the option of creating an "undo" disk upon completion. If you did not make one, then you do not have one.I do not know of a way to undo scandisk any other way.
