-pops- Posted November 29, 2005 Report Share Posted November 29, 2005 Is it one of these dynamic backup systems that are constantly updating?If so, a significant part of your machine's processing ability is always taken up in providing the service as well as constant use of whatever it is that you're backing up to.Assuming it is that: OK, I suppose, if you have a machine sufficiently powerful to provide the processing capacity and your data is sufficiently important not to have any fraction of it lost but, considering most people don't back up at all, this seems like overkill.I think I'll stick with my daily backup when I'm working on something important and my usual Friday aftrnoon one for general use. However, after Symantec has gobbled up PowerQuest, DataKeeper is no longer supported, and I am looking for a replacement.I have just downloaded and installed the trial version from the FileStream website, and I am not impressed. The product uses Windows Backup to do its stuff. I don't need that, as I run Windows Backup on a regular basis.Off we go to uninstall...
