Files and Settings Transfer Wizard Problems

I have restored Windows XP on an HP computer with XP home, and am trying to get the documents and pictures back with the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. I ran the wizard before I restored the computer, and saved all of the "image" files it created to a network drive. When XP was reinstalled, I ran the wizard again, and selected the path of these files. No luck. I got an error stating that the path did not contain a folder with the correct information. I burned the files to DVD's and transfered them to a folder on this computer. No luck. I transfered them to the "C" drive's root directory. Same problem. I selected the DVD's as the source of the files (I had top split them up, because of size), and I got an error message about having to put "disk 1" in. I have never used this wizard before, and it is driving me nuts. Any suggestions?
