Bug_zs
January 5, 2006Dear Forum, As a Windows 98SE user, this Windows XP problem has me stumpped. I'min the process of setting up my buddy's new Dell WinXP Home laptop withthe usual defenses (Zone Alarm, Anti-Virus, etc.) and ran into somethingREAL strange. I set it to show ALL files/folders and extentions. However, when I scoped out the Recycle Bin, its properties show 30 some odd files, but the "Hidden" box is checked and greyed out so it cannot be changed.AND I cannot see the individual files that are supposed to be in the Bin. When I click on any "Recycle Bin" icon, the bin is produced, but isblank of any listing of the files in it. Can anybody help???? Thanks in advance. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
The XP recycle bin is a bitt different from the 9x version, and it can get a bit tricky sometimes.I don't know what the items are that you see (or not see) in the recycle bin. Wht I would do is install Ccleaner and run it to clear out everything that can be cleared.

EnAm
Maybe other users had created the files and deleted. So, logon as administrator and remove files from each local drive's "RECYCLER" folder.
