Sir T Fireball
I have a chunk of space on the net from which I run my morally corrupt forum :P Suprisingly, it doesn't use a lot of my monthly allowance up so I want to setup an ftp facility upon which I can host 'stuff' and give access to friends for downloading/uploading purposes. I have got SmartFtp and know how to access another ftp to download something, but haven't a clue how to go about making mine available. My questions are:1. How do I give access, but limit permissions. Deleting, re-naming etc?2. Can I limit the number of people allowed to access at any one time?3. Can I modify my download speeds?4. Am I using the best ftp manager?Generally, I want to make sure it is running at a good speed, safe from hackers and hammering. Thanks in advance for any pointers :)
nellie2
I don't know a lot about the ins and outs of ftp... But if it were me then I would start with creating a subdomain on my server. Just for the file sharing. You can give that subdomain a different ftp user name and password to your main ftp details.
