Craig
I pressed the power button on my computer this morning then I left the room to do other things while it was booting. Two minutes later I return to find my monitor has not come on.I switch it all off and turn it on again, I wait a while and see no hard disk activity, and still my monitor sits on stand by.At this point I eliminate a possible graphics card problem as my monitor would come up with 'No Signal' on it.So I then remember I installed the optional 'D-Bracket' that came with my MSI M/B, on this bracket their are two USB2 ports and a very useful 4 LED light display that shows red or green lights.I found the combination of the lights in my M/B book and it said 'Memory Detection Test, Testing onboard memory size, The D-LED will hand if the memory module is damaged or not installed properly'.At this point I was thinking to myself it was alright 10 hours ago so what’s wrong now?!So I took the lid off my case and took out my Novatech RAM which I had about 4-6 weeks ago, and the computer booted up fine. Thinking it was strange that I have three RAM sticks and I choose the right one first time, I stuck it back in and the computer booted up fine again! All three sticks were in position before I took one out, and I didn’t move my computer so I don’t understand what the problem was,Has anyone had this sort of problem before with faulty RAM that isn't faulty?!Craig. Guest moon
'Creep' is a reality, Craig, the constant expansion and contraction of components causing bad seating. I reseat everything whenever I've got the case off. Bit of luck on your part ? :)
