ajabajian
I am currently a designer in a pc based office who is starting to work from home. I want to use my mac at home but need to network it to my office. HELP!! I cant take my PC home and I cant afford another PC for home either. Are there any networking geniuses out there that can help me go this or atleast guide me in the right direction?
Scarecrow Man
Networking a Mac and a PC is actually quite easy. It can be done via a Wired network (workgroup or domain) or via wireless. For starters, see Apple's Small Business Network Page. For further reading, check out this site. homecomputeraid
Sorry I'm not more familiar with MAC's, but what you probably want to do, if I understand you right, is set up a Virtual Private Network connection to your office? This will require some configuration both on your computer and your corporate network. Your Network Administrator will have to configure his Router or Firewall to allow the VPN connection to take place, and you'll have to configure your MAC to do a VPN connection to your office. Then your computer will act like it's on your corporate network even when you're home.Does that sound like what you're trying to accomplish?
