aol Security center isssues

I installed AOl Security center(SCC) on both of my pc's. Everything worked fine for the first week, then first one then the other began a constant cycle of antivurs updates. Every 30-40 seconds i gert a popup stating that my antivirus has been updated. I tlaked to aol reps and they told my installations had gotten corrupetd and i need to reinstall. Well I have reinstalled 3 times each on my computers and am still havingthe same issue. It clears up for 4-7 days then starts doing it again. Any one else have any issues with the AOL SCC?

Or anyone have any suggestions othe than just unistalling and buying stand alone antivirus?

Have you uninstalled, rebooted and then reinstalled, or just installed over top of your current installation?

I uninstall using the AOl uninstaller under add/ remove programs....then reboot...then re-download and install. I even completely unistalled and rebooted and redownloaded and reinstalled complete AOL software (AOL 9.0 Security edition, AIM, and AOL security center). The AOL rep told me it must have been a conflict with the Yahoo messenger i have on the one computer, but could not explain how it was happening on both.

I found your post after searching the web for this very problem. I installed AOL Security Center on 4 home-networked pc's after subscribing to Roadrunner hi-speed. AOL and Security Center come free with the service. I was very pleased at first with the performance and seeming transparency after dealing with the memory-hogging problems of Norton. But, just as you experienced, after about 4 days that annoying pop up alert is constantly requiring my attention (it's happened twice while typing this message and I have to click Ok to remove the window). Only one pc has AIM running. I'm now back to searching for security alternatives. Currently looking at Avast, AVG and Spy Sweeper.
