AllyJones Posted May 30, 2003 Report Share Posted May 30, 2003 Windows 95 lost an important file, that unless the computer runs in Compaq's safe mode, I cant use the keyboard. The error message says that Windows SYSTEM.INI or the the registry is not able to refer to this missing device file. I have the Windows95 CD, but I do not know which file(s) to install. Prince of Calcutta Posted May 30, 2003 Report Share Posted May 30, 2003 once your in safe mode try right clicking your keyboard in device manager and choose uninstall.. hopefully the right drivers should get installed when you reboot... not sure where device manager is in windows 95 though if at all it is there!
