ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
A friend of mine complains that the monitor of his new computer is not clear - everything seems slightly blurred. I will go to his office next week and have a look, but I really do not know exactly what to look for. I will check if he has the newest driver for his display adapter, but apart from that I wouldn't know what to do.Any suggestions?P.S. I have already suggested that he install the Microsoft ClearType Tuner, but he said it didn't improve anything.
Rebuilt
Check the resolution he's using is supported by the monitor.
-pops-
TFT or CRT?Don't know anything about TFT monitors but it used to be that CRTs had a focus control on them.Having just looked at my Philips CRT there doesn't seem to be one but there is on my Hyundai Flat Screen CRT. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Thanks for the link. I have actually installed something very similar earlier today (from this topic), but I didn't really understand what it does.
Dan12
Hi, Have not used it myself its's the same program as djohn gave you the link too but just a different site.I purchased a TFT monitor recently and was advised ref.. resolution.........you can alter the resolution on a TFT but it will not be as clear or sharp as at its native resolution. For most 17" TFT panels the resolution is 1280x1024 with a refresh rate of 60 hertz. Clear type tuning helps tremendously with the text and makes it very clear, sharp and smooth to read.Good luck with your friends monitor. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Thanks for everyone's advice. My friend had someone from the company that delivered the computer look at it, and he said it's better now. Still not 100%, but he can live with it.
