Hello, and welcome to the Windows Forum.

Word saves a temporary file in its home folder (usually My Documents), but this file is deleted automatically when you close Word.

Deleted files can sometimes be recovered with some "undelete" tools, but it can be a difficult process. I do not know what undelete tool to recommend, but if you really, really need to recover this file, someone here may be able to give you some recommendations.

Be aware that the more you use the computer in question, the less likely it becomes that you can recover the deleted file.
