Folder view in my *

Every time I open the links to my computer, my documents etc on ym start menu they are open in the "classic" style (ie with no common tasks or folder view), this may have something to do with the fact that I'm using styler but my options don't ever seem to stick (the fact I want the folder view every time i open it).

I have changed my "Windows Explorer" in the start->accessories->windows explorer to %SystemRoot%/explorer.exe /e , and this works fine but I'd like to do it for my documents/computer.

I have tried the commonest ways of doing this (even using folder options -> view -> apply to all folders).

Please help
