gman697
Ok I have a RJ45 T1 line coming from a jack in the wall. The line is going into this box that has 2 phone line inlets on it. One saying 'Voice' and the other 'Data'. Right now the computer is using the 'Data' line for the phone. Also it has another RJ45 cable running in the computer for internet. OK I wanted to use the computer to fax with Winfax. So I bought a jack with two inlets and connected it to the 'Data' inlet on the box. Then I connected the phone line and connected a modem line to it. Well phone works fine, but when the modem tries to dial out to send fax, I get this drawn out beep but its not a busy beep. Something I have never heard? Any suggestions on how to get this working? Thanks
Scarecrow Man
Do you have voicemail on this line?If so, you may need to dial a special code before your outbound number. For example, here I use *70 to disable call waiting before dialing the internet. You should check with your provider for more information.
