Guest ellas Posted June 1, 2003 Report Share Posted June 1, 2003 Neowin down (up again)Neowin was under DoS attack again, probably the same 12 year old kid who attacked the popular site last week. The attacker uses "zombies" (infected systems in control by the attacker) the zombies do 1000's of phony requests per second at port 80 (http) and 21 (ftp) and there are a thousand "zombies" attacking at the moment. Neowin does not know when it will stop, but of course will be back. They are currently investigating how to prevent such attacks. Though this kind of attack is hard to protect against.
