Yeah Ano Posted March 16, 2006 Report Share Posted March 16, 2006 Hi all,Ill get straight to the point. I have a desktop PC cabled to my wirless router and 2 laptops that work wirelessly off it. To my knowledge (add yes i have double checked) they all have the same settings and are all part of the same workgroup. Problem is that i can access one of the laptops from the PC but not the other one - please see attached file for error message. The router can see it as its listed in the DCHP entry list and i ping the laptop using its IP address but when i try to accsess the laptop by either mapping to it (\\"laptop name\c$ - which has been shared) or trying to access it through my network places->view workgroup computer it comes up with attatched error message. All computers are on the same o/s and service pack. I have also set the MS firewall to off and the norton one to exclude the ip range of my network.Any ideas as its gone over my head and causing a head ache!!! Yeah Ano Posted March 18, 2006 Author Report Share Posted March 18, 2006 I have managed ti fix it!!!I ended up adding another protocol to the network connection on all 3 computers (NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Compatible Transport Portocol). Now all 3 computers can access each others resources.Dont know why i had to add that though as TCP/IP protocol should have done it all on its own.Any ideas as to why?
