Sharing resources between two Windows 2003 domains

I have 2 separate domains from two groups of people. A couple of people from one domain need to view a couple of folders from the other domain and vice versa. How can I get those two people to sign in into their domain and to get access to those folders (from the other domain) ?

Also, only of the domains have a DHCP server, Wins and so on… How can I get the other domain to get those services from the other domain?

I do not think that is possible, but then again anything is possible.

I've found one article you may want to read here. I do not know if that helps, but again I do not think crossing multiple domains is possible. You could use a DC and subdomains, but it sounds like you have two seperate domains.

I thought that was the whole point of creating a forest, in which forest administrators get to administrate all the domains that belongs to the forest.

Well, yes. That is what I was saying in my first post. You must have a PDC or DC (Primary Domain Controller or Domain Controller) which administers all other sub-domains.

You must have this set up. You cannot just access one domain from another.

My mistake…. I should have been more specific.

I have to domains set up. All the boxes are 2003Datacenter.

Domain one has a DC and a backup DC, a Wins, DNS and DHCP server. The DC was raised its functional level.

The second domain has also 2 boxes. I am working on promoting the box to DC and I got stuck under the question of how to create the new (second domain)

.-Domain in a new forest

.-Child domain in an existing domain tree

.-Domain tree in an existing forest (this would be my guess)

The second (new domain) needs the services of WINS, DNS and DHCP from domain one. Then, there are a couple of files that needs to be shared between the future users of these 2 domains. These domains are from two separate offices that wants “freedom” from the other office but under the roof of the same company who is forcing the second domain to share resources from domain one 

Yes, you will need to set up a forest. Your 2nd box will need to be a part of the forest, and your DC will remain the DC.

My question now is How can I grant rights to users from domain 1 to gain access to files in domain 2?

Also,

Would the DHCP server would be able to grant IP address to all the computers loggin in into domain 2 (the new added domain tree added to the forest)?

The Windows 2003 Tech Center I linked to in my previous post should answer your questions.

I am just learning about domains myself, and have not much practical experience with them. I'll keep looking for more information, but if you browse the Windows 2003 support site, I am sure you can find what you need.
