Desktop Boy
Good day to all,I am currently using Acronis True Image to image new HP d2000. I used Sysprep 1.1 to remove the computer name and built the image with Windows 2000 Pro as the OS. I am able to lay the image down just fine. Once I enter the computer name, the setup manager begins to finalize the setup and pops up an error message saying "setup.exe has generated an error". I have looked all over for the solution to this problem with no success. I am at a loss because if I build an image without running Sysprep 1.1 i am able to lay the image down just fine. Thanks,Desktop Boy
nellie2
I will admit that this is a little beyond me.. but have you followed the steps in this MSKB article? http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;298491
gd2shoe
I think it's important to find out what error you're dealing with. Using a boot disk (or recovery console), I suggest you go hunting in the windows folder for setup logs (I think there are several). look for both *.txt and *.log .You can also try to restore the image, and then run chkdsk from the recovery console to verify that there are no problems with the file system.
