-pops-
The easiest way to check on this is via http://www.windowsstartup.com/startupinspector.php
r4may
OR you could use :- Start:--> Run:--> msconfig : -->click on OKthen check/uncheck the items in the services and startup tabs. Just like win98 !! :P
-pops-
One problem with msconfig is that it is all too easy to disable a program vital to the operation of Windows and have the situation where it will not boot.Startup Inspector is much safer to use as it can give advice on what is, or is not, needed at startup. Even so, it isn't infallible in that it doesn't actually prevent you disabling vital programs but you would have to be pretty uncaring not to take notice of its advice. It is free, as well. kismetk
Thanks for advice on this.I remember now using msconfig on school workstations - but then these are easily rebuilt if things go pear-shaped! :)
