-pops- Posted April 27, 2006 Report Share Posted April 27, 2006 Scanners are as finicky as printers in regard to installation.You MUST install exactly according to the instructions with no deviation whatever e.g. if you are supposed to install without the device connected well, do it like that. Doing otherwise can result in a failed install.In addition, do not use a USB scanner via a hub. To work effectively, it must be the sole device on a USB port - this is especially important if the scanner is self powered, that is to say doesn't have any other power requirements apart from that which it gains from the USB port.
