makzan Posted May 4, 2006 Report Share Posted May 4, 2006 Hi all,This is my first post, so wish me luck!Internet explorer will not open on my laptop. The icon is on the desktop and the program is in the folder in Program Files. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but it does nothing. There is nothing in the event log. dadyassa Posted May 4, 2006 Report Share Posted May 4, 2006 Hi and welcome to the forum :) Maybe you have some files missing.Use the System File Checker tool to scan all of the protected files on your computer: a. Click Start, and then click Run. b. In the Open box, type sfc /scannow, (space after sfc ) and then click OK. Note that you may be prompted for the Windows XP disc so make sure it is available.
