from what i understand the persistent option is only for the re-establishment of the share after reboots when using a mapped network drive.

I have done \\hostname\share in an explorer window/or start run command and it has kept the username and password I supplied, which I really want to flush out... so I can use another username/password for that same machine, now if I go to any share on that machine it goes straight in and doesn't give me the chance to enter a different password....
