Geek-Squad Posted May 10, 2006 Report Share Posted May 10, 2006 Ok, Guys I have A problem Im going to try my best to descibe my Problem I really need to fix this problem.Ok Today I Thought I Will reFormat My hard drive So i put the Disk In and Then waited Tell i seen install xp So i do that and I Choose new install Then It asks me to reboot So I Reboot. Then I thought.. Why aM i Doing this and cancled it And Then I had to restart again Then I saw a screen saying Please Choose a operating system to start IT gave me 2 choices one was Windows xp Home edition (The one that has always been installed) And another one "Windows Xp Setup".I guess Th This really bugs me because each time restart I get the same message. Is there Away I can delete The So called "Windows xp Startup". What I did was I went To my Computer Right clicked Clicked on propites went to Advanced Then went to startup and recovery then clicked on settings and made it so that i always start With Windows Xp so I don't have have to manually choose. I got that fixed But What Im asking is is there anyway I can FULLY delete Windows Xp setup As I don't Need it. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

However, I have a suspicion that your problem could be found in the boot.ini file; can you check what its contents is?Me neither!I think to get rid of it, load up with the windows XP setup enabled again, and actually run it, once its up and going, cancel the setup and hopefully windows should realise that you don't want a new install and roll back any data that it has installed.
