digler Posted May 11, 2006 Report Share Posted May 11, 2006 Hi,I have automatically downloaded windows updates and have been notified by the microsoft sheild in the system tray but I do not want to install them. I have since changed my settings to manually download the updates but when I turn my computer on I still get the anoying sheild notifying me of the downloaded update and requesting me to install it.Any sugestions.DiglerWindows XP pro. When it brings up the list of updates, uncheck the ones that you don't wish to install, and then click next. It'll ask you if you wish to be reminded about these updates in the future, check or uncheck (can't remember, whatever makes sense) that box and click on next. Then you will not be reminded about that one again.It sounds like because winblows has actually downloaded them updates, and thats why its still reminding you about them.
