trouble with webcam

Recommended Posts

k, this is the last thing i try before i trow the stupid webcam out of the window

it has always worked perfectly in my windows, no special program installed for it

so i wanted to install the original program for the cam but it gave an error saying: "cannot registere LVMcomp.dll". Stupid as i am i just press the ignore button and hope for the better.

but better wasn't what i got

it won't work anymore, so i unisntalled the program (and the included driver) and tried again

the cam wouldn't work on windows anymore as it usually did

so i went to the hardwarecontrole panel where it said my webcam had a problem

it says: windows cant start this device becouse the configurationdata in the registry is incompleet of damaged. (code 19).

it gives me the option to start the problem solver so what the heck i'l go for it

as i start following the steps of what should be the solution to my problem

i encounter a very strange thing

i have to uninstal the device and reinstal it, so i try to uninstal it and i get the message "can't uninstal this device. might be needed for the startup of the computer"

a webcam needed for the startup of my computer ?!

so i try another usb slot and begin to instal the cam and now it says it isn't made for xp, tho on the box it says that it is made for xp

so i have had it.

can anyone tell me whats going on ?

i would really be thankfull

don't know if this is the right forum and also could find any dutch forums for thiis so sorry for the poor english

Have you tried a System Restore to a time before this occurred?

the dll file can be obtained from here.

An explanation of the error code is here - scroll down the page.

Don't worry about your English - it's a lot better than my Dutch! :) Welcome to Windows Forum.
