Blazeix Posted June 21, 2006 Report Share Posted June 21, 2006 Hi, I'm experimenting with remote desktop with my pc and laptop (Both computers have XP pro sp2). I have a linksys router, so I used port forwarding to open up port 3389. I then wondered how secure this is; so I visited a website that would perform a port scan. It found that port 3389 was wide open, as expected. Did I do something wrong when setting up the port forwarding? is there a better way to do it? Kike Posted June 30, 2006 Report Share Posted June 30, 2006 I´m not familiar with the linksys, but there is a way to connect to a computer from a program that its call "VNC", you just installed, set the password to login, and that´s it... If your don't what people to be able to see that port I think port triggering will do that but I don't know if your linksys will have that option.
