disc cleanup shuts down computer

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Thanks for answering. It turns off even if i have just started the computer, and there has been no time for it to heat up. Thanks for any ideas, Glenn

If you have a faulty heatsink fan on the CPU, in severe cases it can overheat in (apparently) zero time. It would be a good idea to install some temperature monitoring software, as suggested by Pat Willener, to keep a check. Many modern machines have this software either already installed or available to be installed as part of the motherboard "extras".
