Lan Connection Problem

Recommended Posts

I am trying a new wireless internet service in my area, and I'm not having the best luck. They are a small startup, so support from them is limited. It is a wireless broadband (ok, 256 kb... but still better than dialup) company.

I brought the modem home and plugged it into the wall, and then to my ethernet card, and everything worked fine. I should've stopped there, and left everything alone. I noticed it was only connecting at 1 bar out of 5 bars. It has a status LED on the front of the device. So I unplugged the modem and moved it closer to the window, and ran a cable over to my desk. Since then, I cannot communicate with it any longer. I've tried releasing the IP address and renewing it, I have my computer set up for DHCP, I've tried anything they have told me. I can no longer talk to the modem.

Is there anything else I can try?
