Kike Posted June 30, 2006 Report Share Posted June 30, 2006 In the windows XP sp2.I´m trying to open an specific window with a shortcut icon place on the desktop.The window is place in "control panel" then "printers and faxes" then "properties" then "ports" and then "configure port", and since the printer is a network printer, it opens a windows call "configure internet port".Here is the thing, I want to change just the printer user name and password, without log off the session. All this trouble, because many users used the same computer, but when they send a file to print, it goes to a print system (Which is on a domain, but the computer is not in the domain) that it charges individually depends on the pages that they sent, so that´s why it very important to change the user.We have already implemented on windows 2000, but it does not apply the same politics on windows XP. cozofdeath Posted June 30, 2006 Report Share Posted June 30, 2006 These are just ideas as I don't have much experience with printers but you could try to remove then add the printer again or check your stored usernames and passwords and see if there is a username and password you can change.
