Processor Cooling

Hi all,

finally upgraded to an Athlon XP with an MSI KT3V Ultra mobo and 512mb DDR.

One of the utilities that came with my mobo was a temp monitoring program. Seeing as i only had a P3 1ghz before, i never thought much about the CPU temp but now frying the CPU seems to be a possibility. Anyone any idea what the optimum CPU temp should be as mine is running at between 59 & 62 degrees currently.

...I read this somewhere, as I replaced a heatsink on my own PC. I was told that AMD only support the use of thermal pads and did not recommend the use of thermal paste (other than for testing etc). Also don't mix pads and paste...Clean contacts with 'isopropyl alcohol' thoroughly before renewing.

Have a look HERE. - WMP file of 2MB

Good list of movie files for AMD processor removal/refitting HERE.

;)
