The PIRT Squad has issued its Top 20 plus brands targetted by phishers for the month of July. We see some new brands rise up into the top 20 spot, plus some new brands show up onto our full list. The top three for July: PayPal, eBay, and Bank of America.

Click here for the full list.

Don't forget to report your phishing emails... the PIRT team are doing a great job but they need input from you.

While these phishing sites may look authentic, it should at once be clear to anyone that they are not - by just having the shortest glance at the address bar. Look at this

Anybody who does not immediately start laughing should not be using a computer!

There are many tools that can help to identify fake login sites, the best probably being the Google toolbar for Firefox. Not only does it warn users when attempting to go to a known phishing site, it also allows us report new phishing sites to Google. (I don't know why the IE version of the toolbar does not have this feature).

P.S. regarding the Malermeister Bauer website in Austria, I have sent them an email in German telling them about the hijack of their site.
