cozofdeath
it is possible for me to connect to somebody's network & access internet.Yes, if their router is not secured.is it legal ?Somewhat. There has been speculation about this but people have gotten in trouble. You may have to lookup legal info for your state. The person you leech off can also get in trouble I believe.can they come to know that i have connected??Yes, they can see what you can and more. So if the want to sniff your packets or crack any shares that you may have they can. They control the router.how do they allocate an IP address??An unsecure router will give you an ip just as it would the person paying for the connection, via DHCP.Another note, the person you leech off may get very angry when they find out. If you were to do this its best to not suck up much bandwidth. Not that I'm saying you should. I should also point out that there are honeypots waiting for people to connect for various reasons like to sniff that persons data or distract them away from the real connection.
