Transferring Files

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to move the contents of the My Documents folder on the OWNER account of my old drive over to my new hard drive. When I try to open the folder or move it, it tells me that I do not have access.

I basically built an entirely new computer with a new hard drive and fresh install of Windows XP. Then I put the old hard drive in, set it as the slave drive and booted up the computer. I thought I would be able to just copy everything from my old hard drive onto the new one in Windows. I also tried to boot up the new system using the old drive as the boot drive but Windows wouldn't start.

Is there any way to get around the access issue? Is there some way that I can MOVE the files in that folder into a different folder on the old drive? I can go into and copy from anywhere on that drive except that one place I want to be.
