topcat43 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Share Posted August 21, 2006 first let me say I'm new to forum and new to windows xp. my first big problemis that I'm on SLOW DIAL-UP. so need a solution to downloading huge files like over 4/5 meg. like a/squared and the biggest of all windows updates and service packs. have a friend that has dsl .is it possable to download on his computer then burn to cd then copy to mine?? me ever getting dsl is almost impossable and satallite internet is still way to expensive. any help will be of usethanks in advancetopcat43 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes you can burn the .exe files to a disk and put them onto your computer no problems as long as your friend has a cd rewriter.
