A couple days ago i got a blue screen of death , i didnt have anything runng. I reset the computer and it boots just fine but when it gets to windows xp splash screen it just apears to be loading forever. hard drive stops spinning after maybe 5 seconds. so i try to boot in safe mode and all is well , list all the drivers and then it stops and just sits there. its does this in all the boot options - safe mode w/ cmd, lst good cfg, etc.. So then i booted from xp disk and entered windows setup to either reinstall or repair but both give me the same result - no hard drive installed in this machine make sure cords properly installed ......." i had a bootable cd into DR-DOS laying around so i booted that and looked for my hard drive and i can see everything there no problem....i dont understand this!!!! is this a MBR problem?

I have had this problem before. For me, I just let it sit at the loading screen. It will sit there for a good 20-30 minutes but eventually it will get through. Once in You should run antivirus and anti-spyware, defragment, and perform all the other usual fixes.
